AMAO
Art Director, Illustrator, Motion Designer
Shengyun Mao, also known as AMAO, is a multifaceted artist based in Shanghai. She graduated from Osaka University of Arts with a Master's in Art & Design and worked for a production company in Tokyo. After many years working and living in Japan, she returned to China to set up her studio, MOU, focus on illustration/motion design/art direction, and work with clients and creative teams from all over the world to commercial and artistic collaborations.
Her illustrations and animations look at reality, capturing the essence of contemporaneity with a voyeuristic gaze, but always with a touch of fantasy and liveliness that sets her apart.
AMAO，是一位来自上海的多元艺术家。她毕业于大阪艺术大学，在获得艺术设计硕士学位后，作为动态设计师就职于东京的一家影像制作公司。在日本工作生活7年后回国成立了个人工作室MOU。专注于插画/动态/美术指导等领域。并与来自世界各地的客户和创意团队进行商业&艺术合作。
AMAO经常从生活环境中获得灵感，作品包括插画、动态设计和 VR 作品。她的风格多彩而有趣。她的插图和动画着眼于现实，以窥视的目光捕捉当代的本质，但总是带有一丝幻想和活力，使她与众不同。

“MOU“ is the Japanese pronunciation of “Mao“. Living in Japan for eight years influenced her career, and having this word as the name of her studio was meaningful to her.
